I accidently found your site and it is so interesting.

But my English is not good, so I have some questions about this comic strip. Could you please tell me what the Chinese meaning of the "fat ass","dumb ass" and "drag ass", whose Chinese meaning can't be found in the dictionaries? And I don't know the meaning of "I worked my ass off developing it" and "You’re all ass backwards!"

Yan:

Fat ass: Fat, ugly, stupid person.
Dumbass: Moron.
Drag ass: Lazy, slow person.
Worked my ass off: I worked really hard.
Ass backwards: Completely wrong, reversed, out of order.

Hi! I'm a translation student, just searching for a book "Speak English Like an American"; the results "accidentally" led me into this site~~ ^^

I'm really impressed by your articles! Honestly, I have learnt English so many years, just started to love it, think of it as fun stuff after studying translation.

Your articles help me to explore the language, as well as American culture in a deeper way.

Thanks for your fruitful blog~~~

Keep going! You have got another big fan now. ^____^

Yan:

That's so sweet of you! I really appreciate your kind words.

Gosh... so many ASSes!

I think full-assed should never be a word for praise. So, I'm on A's side.
