What matters most is whether you are reaching your target audience (which may be narrow and focused), not necessarily how many people read your posts. Engaging with the audience you want to have a relationship with is a much smarter strategy than posting frequently.

I have heard many bloggers tell me that they will lose reader loyalty if these readers come back daily and do not see any new posts. This perception is still very strong although irrelevant. Loyal readers subscribe to your blog via RSS feeds and have new content pushed to them. They will remain loyal because they have subscribed, not because you post frequently.

完全同意。我也建议大家通过RSS来访问这个网站。我设置的RSS feeds （请查看主页底部）都是给出完整内容的，也就是说，大家不用登陆网站就可以读到这里所有的东西。所以实在没理由天天上来，看不到更新又觉得白跑一趟。

With too many posts, you run the risk of losing loyal readers, overwhelmed by the clutter you generate. Readers will start to tune off if your blog takes up too much of their time.

我还真有切身体验。不少曾经订阅的RSS feeds，都因为更新太频繁，根本不可能仔细阅读每一篇，于是取消了。想想自己的blog虽然更新频率不高，但正因为这样，每次更新大家都有足够的兴趣和耐心去仔细阅读，留言里的讨论也相对言之有物，好事。
